Hello Jerry,

Most of the TV signals reaching your location are rated moderate in strength. The antenna best suited to receive these signals with the antenna in the attic is the HD Stacker TV antenna. The antenna should be installed aiming West/Southwest. When supplying multiple TVs a signal amplifier is usually required. A very good choice for the application is the HDA 100 amplifier installed in line on the antenna side of the signal splitter.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Hello John,

With the antenna in the attic at just 12' above ground level the EZ HD TV antenna may work but the HD Stacker TV antenna is the best choice. If you don't have the space in the attic for the HD Stacker the EZ HD is the next best choice. Outside I wouldn't have any doubts the EZ HD antenna would work but in the attic at only a 12 foot elevation I'd go with the HD Stacker antenna.

Along with the antenna use the HDA 100 signal amplifier. Install the HDA 100 amplifier inline on the antenna side of the signal splitter. The HDA 100 will compensate for the effects of the signal splitter. Install the antenna aiming east-northeast.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

7. Approximately how long will the coax cable run be from the antenna to the TV. If a signal splitter is in use how long will the cable run be from the antenna to the furthest TV: 70ft

Hello Bob,

There are a few nearby stations providing a strong signal to your location. However, the majority of the signals reaching the location are rated weaker in strength. To receive at least one channel of every broadcast network will require a long range antenna such as the HD Stacker TV antenna. Along with the antenna I recommend the AP 8700 antenna preamplifier. The AP 8700 will enhance the performance and deliver the best possible signal to both TV locations within your home.

The TV transmitting towers are located in various direction requiring an antenna rotor so you can aim the antenna to the appropriate direction.

If you have any questions please feel free to reply.

Best TV antenna for:
Charlestown, IN 47111

I live in zip code 47111 with an older outside TV antenna that the recent storm just tore to bits.  I know my locals are close by and even with the older antenna I was able to pick them up quite well for the most part but I would like to purchase an antenna or set up a system that would not only receive my locals stations but also Bloomington stations as well if possible.

Greetings

Unfortunately the Bloomington digital signals are very weak at your and will likely be difficult to be consistently received with any antenna so I can't really make a recommendation for those stations. However, to receive the Louisville area digital stations the EZ-HD TV antenna is a great choice. Along with the antenna I suggest the AP 8700 mast mounted antenna preamplifier. The antenna can be installed in a stationary position with the narrower end of the antenna pointing South/Southwesterly.

4. Will the antenna be installed outside above the roofline, in the attic, etc...?: Likely, outside above the roof line, if necessary.
5. If the antenna will be installed in the attic what kind of building materials will the TV signal have to penetrate to reach the antenna in the attic?: If feasable...hardboard type siding.
6. How many TV locations within your home will the antenna supply? In other words, will a signal splitter be in use and if so how many times will the splitter divide the TV signal?: One
7. Approximately how long will the coax cable run be from the antenna to the TV. If a signal splitter is in use how long will the cable run be from the antenna to the furthest TV: The antanna would likely be on the same side of the house as the TV is located. The cable would extend the length of the antanna pole, plus ten or twelve feet to reach the TV.
8. Include any additional information you feel may be helpful when evaluating your reception conditions.: Inquiry as to feasibility of antenna to receive free tv at my location, a wooded area So of Walesburro, IN, off of state road 11, about 2 mi South of state road 58.

Hello Benjamin,

Yes, free TV is available at your location. Fortunately the trees are not widespread and the terrain opens up in a relatively short distance from your location.

The antenna best suited for the reception conditions is the HD Stacker TV antenna. Install the antenna outside aiming South. Along with the antenna I suggest the AP 8700 antenna preamplifier. The preamplifier will enhance the overall performance and help offset any effects introduced by the trees.

You can expect reception from one channel of every free TV network. ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, MYTV, ION, plus all sub channels provided by these stations.

If you have any questions please ask.

Best TV antenna for:
Evansville, IN 47712

Denny,

I have recently moved to Evansville Indiana and am looking to get an
antenna to pick up the digital television signals in the area.
I have reviewed the antenna's on your website, but am torn between the
EZ HD antenna and the MS2000 for my area.  Most signals are located
within 70degrees.

Our address is _________________ Road, Zip is 47712.  I will be hooking
up 2 HDTV's to the antenna.  I am planning on using the antenna for
digital/HD reception only.

Our house is 1.5 stories and is located on a bluff with several large
trees to the west of the house (away from most signal locations).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron

Greetings Aaron,

I suggest the EZ-HD TV antenna with the narrower end of the antenna pointing East/Southeast.

Along with the TV antenna I suggest the AP 8700 antenna preamplifier for the absolute best results.

I am very confident that this equipment properly installed (I'm here to help if you need it) will provide you with excellent digital reception rain or shine.

If you would like step by step detailed information on how to install the equipment, or if I can assist you in anyway, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best TV antenna for:
Fort Wayne 46815

Dear Denny,
1.  I live at: _____________ Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46815.
2. One TV
3.  Antenna will be for digital only.  I doubt there will be any analog in my area.
4. At the present time, I have a double bay antenna hanging up in the attic.  I would like to leave it hanging there, but I could put it up on the roof if I need to.
5. I'm only 6 or 7 miles from the TV towers.  BUT, the house is on the back side of a small hill.  The hill is in between me and the towers.  After checking a topographic map, the hill rises about 25 feet above the house.  Also, standing on the roof and looking in the direction of the towers, there are plenty of large trees in the way, pretty much, a forest.
That's all I guess.  Thanks,
Gary K

Greetings Gary,

I examined the reception data and the perfect choice for your location is the EZ-HD TV antenna. This antenna offers a very high signal gain for its size and should do well under your conditions. The antenna can be installed in a stationary position with the narrower end pointing West. If the coax cable run from the antenna to the TV is 75 feet or less and a signal splitter will not be used a preamplifier should not be necessary. If the coax cable will be longer or a signal splitter will be in use install the AP 8700 antenna preamplifier.

I am very confident that this equipment properly installed (I'm here to help if you need it) will provide you with excellent digital/HD reception.

If you would like step by step detailed information on how to install the equipment, or if I can assist you in anyway, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hello Conrad,

The antenna best suited for the reception conditions at your location is the EZ HD TV antenna. The antenna can be installed in a stationary position aiming west/northwest at about 295 degrees on the compass. When supplying multiple TVs at this location using the EZ HD antenna I recommend the HDA 100 signal amplifier installed in line on the antenna side of the signal splitter. This set up will receive all of the free broadcast network channels available in the Indianapolis area.

If I can assist you further, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hello Michael,

The antenna best suited to receive the Indianapolis stations at your location is the HD Stacker TV antenna. Along with the antenna I think a preamplifier would be a definite benefit. A very good choice is the AP 8700 antenna preamplifier. Install the antenna aiming north-northwest at about 320 degrees on the compass.

Best TV antenna for:
Indianapolis, IN 46201

Good morning Denny,

I live in Indianapolis 46201 and would like to set up an antenna and get rid of cable. There are a few trees in the area but no tall buildings. I will use the antenna for 1 TV but may hook up 1 or 2 more later. I've heard there are more free channels now and the picture can be received in high definition.

Thanks in advance - Bruce K.

Good afternoon Bruce,

That's true, there are more free channels and networks available now and they can be viewed in HD. Not all shows are provided in HDTV format. You'll find older shows (reruns) that were not recorded in HD to have a good quality digital picture but not quit as good as the newer shows that are HDTV format.

I took a look at the data and found that the EZ HD TV antenna an excellent choice for your area. The antenna can be installed with the narrower end aiming North/Northwest. To supply 1 TV with a coax cable run from the antenna to the TV of 75 feet or less signal amplification should not be required. However, in the future if you do add a signal splitter to supply multiple TV's I suggest the HDA 100 distribution amplifier installed on the antenna side of the signal splitter. In other words the coax down lead from the antenna would go to the HDA 100 and then to the splitter.

If you need anything else just let me know.

Take care,
Denny

6. Approximately how long will the coax cable run be from the antenna to the TV. If a signal splitter is in use how long will the cable run be from the antenna to the furthest TV: less than 40 feet

Greetings,

The antenna best suited to meet the reception conditions at your location is the HD Stacker TV antenna. The antenna can be installed in a stationary position aiming South/Southwest and receive at least one channel of every major broadcast network. If a rotor is in use there are some additional channels available to the East and WNW. For the most part these additional channels will be repeat networks of what can be received aiming the antenna SSW.

Along with the antenna I recommend the AP 8780 antenna preamplifier. The AP 8780 will maximize the performance and boost the signal insuring the best possible signal is available at all 4 TV locations in your home.

If you have any further questions please ask.

Hello Kirk,

I have two suggestions for your location.

1. To receive all of the Chicago channels use the EZ HD TV antenna with the AP 8700 preamplifier. Install the antenna aiming North.

2. To receive the Chicago, South Bend channels and likely a few other channels install the  HD Stacker TV antennawith the AP 8700 preamplifier. This configuration will require the antenna be aimed appropriately using a rotor.

Hello Rich,

To receive the Chicago or South Bend stations I recommend the EZ HD TV antenna. Install the antenna aiming West/Northwest for Chicago or East for South Bend.

To receive both the Chicago and South Bend stations install the EZ HD bi-directional antenna system. This system comes with 2 EZ HD antennas, 1 antenna coupler, 1 preamplifier and 3 connecting coax cables. Install one antenna aiming WNW and the other antenna aiming East. This system will allow the reception of both Chicago and South Bend without the need for a rotor or antenna adjustment.

Greetings,

There are TV signals reaching your location from Cincinnati, Louisville, Lexington and Dayton.

The antenna best suited to meet the reception conditions is the HD Stacker TV antenna. Along with the antenna I suggest the AP 8700 antenna preamplifier. The AP 8700 will enhance the overall performance and boost the signal delivering a strong signal to each TV location in your home.

The antenna can be installed in a stationary position aiming east-northeast and receive all of the Cincinnati stations. If you want to receive the Cincinnati, Louisville, Lexington and Dayton channels you will need to use an antenna rotor so you can aim the antenna to the appropriate direction.

Hi Janet,

There are both VHF and UHF TV signals available at your location. The TV transmitting main tower location is located on the North side of Indianapolis to your North/Northeast at a distance of 17 miles. I am going to offer two option that will provide great reception.

1. If the antenna is installed outdoors above the roof line. Use the EZ HD TV antenna. Install the antenna aiming NNE. See http://dennysantennaservice.com/ez_hd_and_hd_stacker_aiming.html
Along with the antenna use the HDA 100 signal distribution amplifier. Install the HDA 100 in line on the antenna side of the signal splitter.

2. In the attic. Use the HD Stacker TV antenna. The high performance of the HD Stacker will offset the effects of the attic location. Install the antenna aiming NNE. See above link.
Along with the antenna use the HDA 100 as described above in #1.

Best TV antenna for:
Saint John, IN 46373

Hi Denny,

I live at ________Drummond Ave just off from Joiliet St. in St. John, IN. 46373. What antenna is best for my location. The antenna will feed 3 Televisions. I plan to mount the antenna outdoors. I like the looks and size of the ez hd will it work for me?

Thanks, Mel

Hi Mel,

The EZ HD TV antenna is an excellent choice for your location. As a matter of fact it's a great choice for all areas in Northern IN. North of Hwy. 10 and East of Hwy. 49. The antenna can be installed in a stationary position with the narrower end of the antenna aiming North/Northwest at about 346 degrees on the compass.

To feed the 3 TV locations I recommend the HDA 100 amplifier. Install this unit on the coax cable down lead from the antenna within a 50 foot cable length from the antenna before the signal splitter on the antenna side of the splitter.

I live in Schererville, IN exactly 30 miles from Chicago's Sears Tower and Hancock Tower. I am ready to switch to a satellite TV system but want to have local (VHF and UHF) reception (from Chicago) for 4 of my TV sets. I live in a 2 story town home and can mount the antenna on my roof or chimney. Do you think I will have decent reception for channels 2-13 and UHF?

Arthur

Greetings Arthur,

The antenna best suited to meet the reception conditions at your location is the EZ HD TV antenna. This will provide excellent reception at your location. Install the antenna with the narrower end of the antenna aiming NNW.

The kind of mount is your choice. View the antenna mounts and try to determine which mount will work best for your structure and you can safely install. If I can assist you further please don't hesitate to contact me.

I examined the reception data and the dual EZ HD TV antenna kit #2 is ideal to receive both locations. Aim one antenna NNW and the other antenna East. This will allow any TV in your home to watch either location without effecting the other TV unlike if a rotor were to be in use.

The kit comes with everything needed to couple the two antennas.

Hello Deborah,

As you may know the South Bend signals are rather strong and the Chicago signals are weaker at your location. The antenna best suited to meet the reception conditions is the HD Stacker TV antenna. Along with the antenna use the HDP 269 antenna preamplifier. The HDP 269 is designed not to overdrive the strong signals while providing the needed signal amplification for the weaker signals. To receive both location will require an antenna rotor so you can aim the antenna to the appropriate direction. East-northeast for South Bend and west-northwest for Chicago.

To receive all channels except MYTV the EZ HD TV antenna is a perfect choice for the location. Install the antenna aiming SSE. Along with the antenna install the HDA 100 signal amplifier in line on the antenna side of the signal splitter.

To receive all channels including MYTV I recommend the EZ HD bi-directional antenna kit #1. This system comes with two EZ HD antennas, one antenna coupler, one AP 8700 antenna preamplifier and three connecting cables. Aim one antenna SSE and the the other ENE. Couple the two antennas together using the antenna coupler and amplify the signal with the AP 8700 preamplifier.

If I can assist you further, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Denny
