TV Antenna Grounding

Q. Dennis, I have ordered the three items you suggested, you didn't recommend a ground. Do you think it is necessary? Thanks, Dwight B.

A. TV antenna manufacturers recommend grounding all outdoor antennas.

1.) A ground block-static discharge-lighting arrestor... all names used to describe the same item... should be installed on the coax cable just before it enters your home. A ground wire is then ran from the block to a suitable ground such as a ground rod.
2.) A ground wire should also be attached to the TV antenna mast or mount and a ground wire is ran to a ground.
If you need anything else just let me know.
Thank you for the order and be careful installing the antenna. Always watch out for overhead power lines.
Take Care,
Denny
