HD Stacker antenna range "Question and Answer"

Q.
Hello Denny, I noticed your new stacker antenna. I'm curious about the estimated range of this antenna. Thank you, Michael

A.

Hi Michael,
>
As you may already know if you've been around my website I'm not a big believer in putting range in miles on a TV antenna. I do it because the consumer requests it. There are so many variables involved and so much information out there that is misleading. Right now there is an antenna manufactured in China, sold under many names that claims a range of up to 150 miles. This antenna is "pure junk" yet because it is advertised all over the Internet people buy it only to be disappointed.
>

There are a few select areas in the USA where it's not uncommon to receive signals from 100 miles away with a small antenna. This is due to wide open flat terrain creating an excellent line of sight (perhaps accross a large valley) from the transmitting antenna to receiving antenna. On the other hand in a densely wooded or hilly area of the Country this same antenna that worked at 100 miles in flat wide open terrain may struggle to receive signals from 20 miles away.
>
The HD Stacker has a proven reception range of 80 to 100 miles over good "open" terrain. Semi obstructed terrain (Some hills and trees) 60 to 80 miles and very poor terrain (very dense trees and or numerious hills) 45 miles.
Any claim that states antenna range of over 100 miles is very misleading. Truthfully 100 miles is pushing it no matter what antenna is in use.
>
The problem with stating antenna range is there's no standardized test to determine antenna range and nearly every location varies. This means anyone can use the phrase "up to" so many miles and get away with just about any claim. In other words I could say the Stacker range is up to 200 miles and get away with it because I'm sure I could create a situation where the Stacker could receive a signal from 200 miles away.

The honest answer is... The Stacker average range in miles is 60 to 100 miles.

The bottom line is this. I'm very proud of the HD Stacker performance and the emails I receive everyday from our customer's validate to me how truly good it really works. I can't find a better performing VHF/UHF digital TV antenna on the market today. If you or anyone else can please let me know.
