The UP-7 TV Antenna

Designed for Todays Digital Television Needs
Today's TV viewers are looking for antennas that are small and inconspicuous,
yet still provide the performence they need for quality digital/HD reception.

TV Antenna UP 7

The problem with the hoards of new compact antennas on the market today is, yes there small, but they don't provide the performance needed for consistent quality digital/HD reception without pixellation. See HDTV Antenna Digital TV Antenna

The UP-7 antenna addresses this issue with high performance fringe area reception capabilities in a minimal sized antenna.

How does the UP-7 do this without defying the laws of physics?

The largest portion of a traditional antenna is the section of the antenna designed to receive low band VHF, channels 2 - 6. To receive these channels at maximum performance the antenna has to be 110" wide and very long, 10 to 12 feet. The UP 7 antenna is designed for maximum performance on channels 7 - 69, eliminating the need for this large section design for low band VHF.

The UP-7 fits into attic spaces and other areas where traditional antennas just won't fit.

Is the UP-7 antenna the right choice for you?

Performance of the UP-7 on channels 7 and up is equal to or better then antennas as much as 4 times its size.

Most digital stations in the United States are and will broadcast their digital/HD signals on channels 7 and up, with a few exceptions.

Follow the steps below to determine if the UP-7 is the right choice for you.

TV Antenna UP 7

Step 1. Go to http://www.antennaweb.org click on choose an antenna and follow the instructions. You only need provide your street name and number and zip code.

The UP - 7 will receive all channels broadcasting on channel 7 and up through the Violet color and then some. It will receive channels 2 - 6 through the Red color. For digital/HD reception click on show digital channels only at the top of the page. The column on the right of the page shows the actual channel that particular station is using to broadcast their digital/HD signal on. Are they all on channels 7 and up? If not, are the channels below channel 7 in the Yellow, Green or Red? If so, this antenna is a good choice so far.

Take note of the city location of the channels you would like to receive.

Step 2. Go to http://hraunfoss.FCC.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-06-1082A2.pdf Here you will find the FCC's tentative final channel destination for all channels in the United States. Scroll to the State and City that the TV stations listed in antennaweb were located in. In the first column is the current channel number that particular station is broadcasting their digital signal on, the second column is the channel they are broadcasting their analog signal on, and in the third column is the tentative final channel destination for their digital signal.

Are all final channel destinations for the channels you want to receive on channel 7 and up?

If there are channels below channel 7, do they appear in the color Yellow, Green, or Red on antennaweb?

If you answered yes to both of the above questions, then the UP-7 antenna is a perfect choice for you.

Hi Denny...
>
>
Stuck the UP-7 TV antenna in the attic and hooked it up just to see if it would work there. Works great on all channels listed on http://www.antennaweb.org/  (even the one in lavender) and then some with a 50 ft cable attached.

You were right on Channel 3 analog being iffy, but the digital side is 100%.

I'm gettin KLKN channel 8, 8-1 & 8-2 in Lincoln perfect and even Sioux City channels in the opposite direction (not real well, but impressive). Cool beans.

Going to shorten the cable to about 20 ft today to neaten things up and leave the antenna where it is.

I'm happy, thanks,
Gary B.

Dear Denny,

Last week I received the Up-7 TV antenna after the Winegard 8800 that I had purchased (from another vendor) did not meet my needs.  Thursday I installed the antenna along with a Winegard 8780 and

CM 9521 rotor at a height of 25 as you recommended.  After connecting the antenna to my Dish receiver, I could not believe the results!  The NBC (UHF) station according to TV Fool is over 65 miles from my home.  It registered 94 on my strength meter; the CBS (VHF) station at 35 miles registers 90-92, and the FOX (UHF) station at 35 miles consistently registers 100!  The biggest surprise was picking up PBS (UHF) in Alexandria (50+ miles) at 77.  I was disappointed that I couldn't pick up the stations in Shreveport (75-80 miles), but what more should one expect from such a compact TV antenna?  (My wife appreciates the compact size as it is hardly noticeable from the front of our house.)

I have told several of my friends and co-workers about the Up-7 and your website.  Both are winners!!

Thanks for your help.

Outstanding! I'm glad to hear the reception is good but the fact that your wife appreciates the antenna is probably most important. I did some research using TV Fool and other data providers and I doubt that any antenna would provide reception from Shreveport unless it was installed at an elevation of about 300 feet above ground. Apparently there is some major signal obstruction between your location and the Shreveport transmitters.
.
Anyway I'm glad to hear that the stations that are available are coming in with strong signals. With signals like that I doubt that you will see much in the way of pixelation (signal drop).
.
Thank you for placing your order with us. If you need any further assistance just let me know.
.
Best Regards,

Denny

PS. Thanks for spreading the word we do appreciate that.

I installed the UP 7 antenna & the AP 8780 pre-amp last night and they work perfectly, I cannot believe how clear the reception is, better than cable. Thanks for recommending this setup. I installed the rotor but did not have time to connect it yet, I may contact you with questions when I get to that point.
Your web site is great, I learned enough there to attempt this installation with no prior antenna experience. A real benefit for the do-it yourselfer. Enjoyed the 500,00 mile vehicle as well, my pickup is 20 yrs old, I can relate.
Again, Thank you very much,
Sincerely,
Ron ___________

Hi Ron,
I'm glad to hear things turned out as planned. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done!

Denny,
Thanks for the great info and recommendation.  I recieved my shipment
in record time and within 45 minutes I had more channels than I had
hoped for.  The UP-7 antenna and the wineguard AP-8780 amplifier were
perfect.  Easy to install and work great.  Thanks again.  I am telling
others about your websight and knowledge.
