Morganton 26505
Hello,
I am writing for an HDTV antenna recomendation.  I happen to live in Morgantown, WV which is about five miles south of the Pennsylvania line.  My closest station is a PBS one in town.  After that there are various stations around Pittsburgh, PA which is about 40 miles north and two about 25 miles south in WV.
I have been using nothing but basic cable TV service for years.  I simply have the cable wire connection with box or external tuner.  I recently acquired an HDTV and discovered that for some reason I am receiving about three HDTV stations via the cable but have looked into installing a roof antenna mainly for HDTV although it would be good to be for FM also.  I have been doing a lot of research on the internet and happily found your site which is quite informative.  Certainly the guanantee is good also.  There are various mountains in the area so I am sure they somewhat decrease the range of broadcasts.
I am planning on doing the install myself.  I have remodeled my 30 year old home with a central wiring closet by replacing the phone wire, TV wire and adding network cables about everywhere.  I happen to have lots of spare RG6,  RG6 quad shield and CAT 5 cable so I would not need to purchase any of that.  I would need the antenna, stand and possibly rotating device.  The Winegard MS 2000 certainly looks interesting.  I have never seen one of those but am open to the standard design if that would be what is needed at my distance.
Thanks
Greetings Phil,
Because of the terrain between your location and some of the transmitters I would not recommend the MS 2000 (see TV antenna range). I will however recommend the Winegard HD 7082P TV antenna with confidence. This antenna should provide all of the gain required to receive your digital and analog channels along with FM. I also suggest the Channel Master 7777 antenna preamplifier. The low noise and high output of this amplifier should virtually eliminate any chance of digital signal drop out. For FM reception the FM trap on the amplifier should be set to the out position. You will also need to direct your antenna since the transmitters are in different directions, our best rotor is the Channel Master 9521 TV antenna rotor. I believe the above equipment will give you excellent results at your location.
If I can assist you further please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best Regards,
Denny
