Hi Denny,
Can you recommend an antenna. Our address is _______ County Rd P30, Blair, NE 68008.

Thanks.
Bob

Greetings Bob,

Looking over the reception data for your location I think your absolute best choice for consistent quality reception for both analog and digital signals is the miniMAX TV antenna. Along with the antenna I suggest the Winegard AP 8700 antenna preamplifier. This antenna provides excellent performance for its size and for this reason has become one of the most popular antennas we offer. The miniMAX II is not a cheap antenna it is very well built and will provide you with years of service.
The TV antenna can be installed in a stationary position with the narrow end pointing South Southeast. This position will provide you with reception on all of the Omaha area stations. There are some repeat networks from Sioux City that are somewhat weaker in strength but could be receive with the installation of a rotor to aim the antenna Northerly. Unless there is a particular reason that you want to receive these stations I wouldn't bother since the majority of the time they will show the same programming that you can already get from Omaha.
I am very confident that this equipment properly installed (I'm here to help if you need it) will provide you with excellent reception for both analog and digital/HD signals.
If you would like detailed information on how to install the equipment, or if I can assist you in any way, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Denny
Would you please recommend a TV antenna my zip code is 68019. Thanks, Robyn
Robyn,
I examined the broadcast stations in your area. All broadcast networks are available to you from Omaha at a distance of about sixty miles. The terrain between your location and the transmitters is open and flat ideal for TV reception. I recommend either the Winegard HD 7080P TV antenna with an AP 8700 antenna preamplifier. No need for a rotor all the Omaha transmitter are within a few degrees of each other from you location. Using a compass point the small end of the antenna to about 155 degrees, some minor adjustment may be required to get it just right.
If I can help you further please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hallam 68368
My zip code is 68368. I live about a _______ south of Hallam, NE. I currently have a RCA ANT3036W in my attic. I receive some channels OK(7,12,15,42,51,6.2,7.1,7.2,11.2,12.1,12.2,12.3,12.5,42.1,42.2) and some not very good (3,6,8,10,3.1,6.1,8.1,10.1,15.1) A couple of my neighbors have 40' towers I've been to antennaweb.org, most channels are blue or violet. I was thinking about upgrading my antenna to a Winegard HD 7084P and possibly eave mounting it. Or I would go to the extreme and buy a used 40' tower. I hate to keep sinking money into something that kind of works.
What do you think my best option is?
Thanks,
Terry
Greetings Terry,
A tower would not be necessary at your location. I took a look at the data from your area including transmitter distances, output power and your surrounding terrain. The Winegard HD 7084P VHF/UHF/DTV antenna would provide outstanding reception at your location. I also recommend the Winegard AP 8700 antenna preamplifier. The antenna eave mount is our most popular mount and one of my favorites. You will also need an TV antenna rotor for best results since your stations are in different directions. Most of the stations you mentioned that are not very good are from Omaha. The transmitters in Omaha are about 68 miles from your location. I'm certain these items properly installed will provide excellent reception on the Omaha channels and several others. If you haven't already you may want to visit Installing a TV antenna eave mount

Omaha
I am tired of paying for cable tv. The price just keeps going up and up. I want to get the best rated indoor tabletop antenna available. You know, one that just plugs into your tv and boom, beautiful reception. I live in midtown omaha on a hill, if that makes a difference. I don't know a dtv from an hdtv, I just know I want as many of the uhf and vhf channels as possible. If dtv an hdtv are more chanels, that's great.Should I be considering the sharp shooter ss3000 model? Thanks for your help.
Warmest regards, Sharon, Omaha NE
Greetings Sharon,
To receive digital TV you have to have a digital TV with a built-in digital tuner or a set top tuner for your current analog TV. Yes DTV does provide more channels. The current analog broadcast signals will be turned off on February 17, 2009. At that point you will have to switch to DTV or go without TV.
The SS 3000 is a VHF/UHF/DTV antenna and if you were using it for DTV reception I would highly recommend it. However, since you intend its use for standard analog reception I can't say for certain it will provide satisfactory results. There are many factors involved that can affect reception quality when using an indoor TV antenna. The kind of material used in the construction of your home. Is there aluminum siding? Do you have other homes or buildings that could block the signal from getting to you? I guess what I'm trying to say is, no indoor TV antenna can promise beautiful reception at every location. The best advice I can give you is try it, if your not satisfied return it for a refund or a different antenna. I simply can't promise beautiful reception with any indoor antenna. View our guarantee.
