Can you please recommend an antenna based upon the following information:
My area or location is Lee's Summit, MO 64064 (greater Kansas City, Missouri area)
I would like to mount the antenna in the Attic.
I have concrete roofing tile.
I prefer the most compact antenna possible.

Greetings Donald,

If the antenna location in the attic will require that the signal penetrate the concrete tile I wouldn't recommend the installation there. If it can be installed so that the signals coming from the West/Northwest can avoid metal/concrete etc... I think you'll be just fine.
>
Your best bet is either the EZ-HD TV antenna or the miniMAX TV antenna. If you will be using the antenna for digital reception then choose the EZ-HD antenna. If you will be using the antenna for analog reception and or digital reception choose the miniMAX. The wider width of the miniMAX will perform better on analog channels 4 and 5.
>
Along with either antenna I suggest the AP 8700 mast mounted preamplifier for the absolute best results.
>
The antenna can be installed in a stationary position with the narrower end of the antenna pointing West/Northwest.

Hi Denny

>
WOW what a GREAT WEB site !!!  Thanks for providing all the information.
>
I have a question before ordering.  My house is at ___________ in Liberty Missouri 64068. and I think that the MS2000 placed approx 5 feet higher than any other structure on my roof will work just fine. My question is.... there is an existing splitter on the outside of the house that was installed there by the cable people a few years back (we cancelled cable service some 2 years ago and it is no longer attached to their service) , this splitter has the cables already running into the the two rooms that have TV's and it would be easier for me to connect the cable coming from the antenna into this splitter on the outside. Is this acceptable or could it adversely affect my reception.

PS: Please send emails to my home email account which is : _____________

Thanks again Denny !!!

Greetings Bern,

You can use the existing splitter but a voltage block will be necessary on one of the splitter outputs. For complete information on how and why to use a voltage block see: http://www.dennysantennaservice.com/Voltage_Block.html  Keep in mind as you read the page at the link above that the MS 2000 preamplifier is built into the antenna head. The use of the voltage block is the same as if you were using a mast mounted preamplifier.
>
I have to tell you although the MS 2000 will likely work at your location I don't believe it is your absolute best choice especially for digital reception. If you haven't converted to digital reception yet it is in your near future. Your better choice is the EZ-HD TV antenna. This antenna can be installed in a stationary position with the narrower end of the antenna pointing South/Southwest. Along with the antenna I suggest the AP 8700 mast mounted preamplifier with the use of the voltage block mentioned above.
>
I'm not trying to talk you out of the MS 2000 I think the EZ-HD is a better choice. Day in and day out EZ-HD antenna will service you better.
>
I am very confident that this equipment properly installed (I'm here to help if you need it) will provide you with excellent reception for both analog and digital/HD signals.
>
If you would like step by step detailed information on how to install the equipment, or if I can assist you in anyway, please don't hesitate to contact me.

1. Street address:  __________ Ave. Springfield, MO.  65807
>
2. TV locations:       Not more than 3 locations
>
3. Antenna useage:  If the recommended antenna works better than my rabbit ears, then I will use it for
analog signals that are still available until the conversion to all digital next year, but vhf reception isn't necessary unless some of my local stations use the  vhf for digital.
>
4. I intend to mount it on the satellite mast that is currently on my house, because I  think will be easier than mounting it in the attic and running wires through the walls.  I  have existing cable from the satellite dish that I think I can use for the antenna.
Thanks

Greetings Terry,
>
I examined your reception data and found that the EZ-HD TV antenna is a perfect choice for your location. Along with the antenna I suggest the AP 8700 mast mounted preamplifier. This unit will provide the amplification needed to get a good quality signal from the antenna to all 3 TV locations.
>
The antenna can be installed in a stationary position with the =arrower end of the antenna pointing East/Northeast.
>
You will have 1 VHF digital channel. CBS channel analog 10 is currently broadcasting digitally on channel 52 but will move their digital signal to their vacated analog channel 10 position and begin broadcasting digitally on channel 10 at the time of the analog shutdown in February.
