Hi,
>
I have a regular TV, nothing fancy. Most people in this area have cable TV which I'm not interested in. I bought a cheap indoor antenna and wasted my money. My question is, the indoor antenna that you recommend, will it work for regular TV's? I'm not sure, but there are no outside antennas in my neighborhood and I'm not sure if it's OK. I have no way of setting one up myself and thought the indoor one would be my best bet. I moved to NW Arkansas in August from North Carolina and really miss the great TV reception I had there. Got any suggestions?
Thanks so much,
Amy

Greetings Amy,

I'll do my best to recommend the best TV antenna for you but first I need your zip code Also tell me a little bit your location. Are there hills or several homes nearby? Is your home brick or aluminum sided? Is your home located high, average or low ground?
On the subject of if it's OK for you to have an outside antenna where you live, you can. The federal communications act of 1996 states among other things states that it is unlawful to prevent a homeowner from erecting an antenna on their own property. There are a few minor stipulations relating to size and antenna location.
I'll be waiting for your reply.

Hi Dennis,
First, my zip code - 72712. I live in a duplex, mostly brick with some non-metal siding on the eaves; looks like plastic. There are 7 duplexes on this cul-de-sac. There are neighborhoods close by with many homes. NW Arkansas has a rolling hills mountain range, not real mountains. Where the duplex is, it's not in a low place, I'd call it average. Most of the neighbors have cable, some have a small dish, not many. What I've been told about TV reception in this area is that because of the mountains, the regular reception is terrible and to get cable. My TV is a couple of years old, a flat screen Sylvannia. I hope you will have good news.
Thanks so much for your quick reply.

Amy,
I don't have the best news for you. The reception conditions at your location would probably make any indoor TV antenna a waste of money. The simplest solution I can recommend would be the Winegard MS 2000 TV antenna mounted outdoors preferably above your roof line. This TV antenna outdoors would probably go unnoticed and isn't any larger than a satellite dish. With the hills, brick exterior and many nearby structures that the signal would have to go through, I doubt any antenna would provide quality reception without being outside and elevated so it's above the nearby roof lines. I wish I could tell you that there is a magical indoor TV antenna that would work, but unfortunately one does not exist. If I can assist you further please don't hesitate to contact me.

Denny

I am trying to set my mother in law up with a good antenna. She lives in Black Oak Arkansas 72414 The land is flat all the way to Memphis Tn and Jonesboro Ar (where the
majority of TV stations are located) According to antenna web..these are the stations and the areas...Obviously I want an antenna that is quality ....but I do not understand the
color coded system... I notice the Winegard MS 2000 is considered a good antenna ,,,,but how do I choose which antenna conforms to the color system?
Greetings LeMon
On the antennaweb site click on the link antenna info and that should explain the color system. As far as the
MS 2000 TV antenna goes I think if you can install it up in the air preferably 25 feet or higher I think it would work fine at your mothers location. The best thing about it is your mother would not have to use a rotor.
If I can assist you further please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Denny
