RCA Antenna
History
RCA Antenna was
installed on the Empire State Building, 1946
Three antennas were installed: one
for 66-72 mHz transmission of TV signal, one for WEAF-FM, RCA's
commercial
FM radio station antenna, and one for experiments with RCA's 288
mHz television transmitter.
You could see the antennas on the
Empire State building when you were looking up through the trapdoor
in the roof.
O.B. Hanson was the inspecter of the antennas after it was
installed.
That would be a huge job to install any antenna
system on top of the Empire State building. No matter what kind
it
might be VHF/UHF/FM/HD antenna any of these kinds or
size.
RCA television
antennas look like they were huge. Look at how big this
TV antenna is. The do-it-yourself
person would need
help with the size of this TV antenna.
